Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup

                       Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices bread
  • 2 slices cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a combination)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 can (10.75 oz) condensed tomato soup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions:

  1. Make the grilled cheese: Butter one side of each bread slice. Place one slice in a skillet over medium heat, butter side down. Top with cheese and the other slice of bread, butter side up. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  2. Make the tomato soup: In a small saucepan, combine tomato soup, water, oregano, and garlic powder. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
  3. Serve: Serve the grilled cheese with a bowl of hot tomato soup.

Variations:

  • Add-ins: Add sliced ham, bacon, or avocado to your grilled cheese for extra flavor and protein.
  • Spice it up: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to your tomato soup.
  • Make it a meal: Serve with a side salad or a bowl of fruit.

This classic comfort food is perfect for a quick and easy lunch. It's also a great way to use up leftover bread.
